Stephen Greenblatt is Cogan University Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University. He is the author of twelve books, including The Swerve: How the World Became Modern (winner of the 2011 National Book Award and the 2012 Pulitzer Prize) and Will in the World: How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare, and has edited many other books. He is the recipient of a long list of literary honors, including election to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a variety of other scholarly societies; and he has served as president of the Modern Language Association of America. His newest book, The Rise and Fall of Adam and Eve, is scheduled for publication in September 2017.
