Fifty years ago, Bobby Kennedy was gunned down when he was on the cusp of uniting disparate parts of America — blacks, browns, and blue-collars; terrified parents and estranged youths; and the establishment he’d grown up in versus the New Politics he heralded. Today American is even more divided along many of those same lines, and Bobby’s message is more resonant than ever. Award-winning biographer Larry Tye will talk about how that history can help us regain our faith in the political process in this Era of Trump. And he’ll show us a Bobby we didn’t know in his formative Cold War, Joe McCarthy-loving early years, and how he grew into the tough liberal we know so well from his crusade for the presidency in 1968.
